With a humanistic and scientific approach, to conduct internationally recognized research in the field of elementary school teaching and to train elementary school teachers who are sensitive to the problems of our country and the world, committed to the Principles and Reforms of Atatürk, and possess superior knowledge and skills.
A BRIEF HISTORY AND INTRODUCTION TO OUR DEPARTMENT
The Classroom Teaching Program was established to train classroom teachers who will work in the first stage of primary education. The program began accepting students in the 1998–1999 academic year, and as of the 2022–2023 academic year, 275 students are continuing their education in our department.
The Classroom Teaching Program is an undergraduate program within the Department of Basic Education at Necatibey Faculty of Education. The program includes subject knowledge, teaching profession knowledge, general culture, and practical courses, as well as elective courses that support our students' professional development. Theoretical courses in the program are conducted in technology-supported classroom environments, while practical courses are conducted in science, biology, and computer laboratories. At the same time, our students complete internships at MEB-affiliated central and village primary schools during two academic semesters throughout their undergraduate studies, in cooperation with the Necatibey Faculty of Education and the Provincial Directorate of National Education.
The Classroom Teaching Program is an interdisciplinary field based on science and social sciences. The academic staff of the Classroom Teaching Department consists of 2 professors, 1 associate professor, 2 assistant professors, and 1 research assistant.
